Typing & autocorrect
As you type in Draft Mode, GLASS converts quotes, dashes, ellipses, and common fractions to their typographic forms and capitalizes the start of each sentence.

Three or more hyphens in a row, like a --- section divider, are left as you typed them.
Turn them off
Open Preferences, choose Writing, turn off Autocorrect as you type (dashes, ellipses, fractions, and capitals) or Smart quotes, then click Save. Both are on by default, and each works on its own: with smart quotes off, quotes stay straight while dashes and capitals still correct.
The dash, ellipsis, fraction, and capital corrections are each their own undo step. Press Ctrl+Z / ⌘Z once, right after one, to undo just the correction and keep what you typed. It's the escape hatch for intentional lowercase (bell hooks) and a literal --.
To switch a quote mark between curly and straight, right-click next to it and choose Convert to Straight Quote or Convert to Curly Quote.
