Switching modes
The Mode Switcher, at the right end of the top bar, moves you between Draft Mode and Review Mode with a single click.
- Click Review to switch to the editing surface, or Draft to switch back.
- The mode you're in is highlighted in green.
If you open an editor's review copy, the switcher shows only Review. See How roles work.
Note
It's always the same document. Switching modes moves no text.
Each mode has its own undo history, and it starts fresh when you switch. After switching, Undo can't reach edits you made before the switch.
In Review Mode your edits don't change the text directly. They're recorded as suggestions in an Edit Pass. See Edit Passes.
Switching to Review Mode ends a writing sprint in progress. Words you've written still count toward your goals.
