Breaks & columns

Force a new page, split into columns, or start a new section with its own layout.

Insert a break

Choose Insert ▸ Break and pick one:

• Page Break (Ctrl+Enter / ⌘Enter): start the next line on a fresh page.
• Column Break: end the current column, so the text after it starts at the top of the next column (or the next page, after the last column).
• Section Break (Next Page) / (Continuous): begin a new section, on a new page or on the same one. The new section starts with one column.

Columns

1. Put the cursor in the section you want to change, choose Format ▸ Columns, and pick 1 Column, 2 Columns, or 3 Columns.
2. For more columns (up to 12), different Spacing between them, or a Line between columns, choose Format ▸ Columns ▸ Columns, set them in the dialog, and click Apply.

Columns apply to a whole section, from its section break up to the next one. If there's no section break before the cursor, GLASS adds a next-page section break at the cursor, so the columns begin on a new page. To start columns partway down a page, choose Insert ▸ Break ▸ Section Break (Continuous) first, then set the columns right after it. You can also right-click anywhere in a section that begins with a section break for Column options or Delete section break.
